Nathula Pass Access

Entry to Nathula Pass is subject to availability and weather conditions. The pass remains closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so plan your itinerary accordingly.

Foreign Nationals

Foreign travelers are not permitted to visit Nathula Pass, but they can visit Tsomgo Lake with special permission.

Weather Considerations

Gangtok’s weather is unpredictable, especially at high-altitude locations like Tsomgo Lake (12,400 feet) and Nathula Pass (14,140 feet). Visitors are advised to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activities due to lower oxygen levels.

Yak Rides at Tsomgo Lake
